Back to Good Karma

Welcome Friends! Here is a place for teachers, parents, librarians and writers to learn what's going on in the world of book author Karma Wilson.

Unconditional Love Giveaway! CLOSED NOW

In celebration of unconditional love I’m holding a givaway for two of my books that highlight the parental bond (these titles are geared toward mothers).

The first book is my board book Uh-Oh Calico!  Calico kitten is having a day filled with accidents (like most toddlers). She spills her milk, tramples her flower bed, and almost knocks a bowl on her head! But is Mama mad?  No–she’s just concerned for the safety of her baby.

Calico

The other book is Mama Always Comes Home.  Every Mama, even those in the animal world, have to leave their babies  when they would rather not. Mama birds leave the nest to get food, mama cats eave their kittens to eat, mama dogs go play with their humans.  This book reassures little ones that mama even though mama must leave sometimes, she will always come home. Great for separation anxiety!

To enter the contest read the rules and regulations on my contest page

http://karmawilson.com/contest.php

and answer this question (the answer is somewhere on my website):

Did my children suffer from separation anxiety? (Hint: Look in the Mama Alaways Comes Home page)

I will choose two separate winners by lottery. Each winner will receive one signed copy each of the above titles.

The contest will be open for one week. Deadline for entries: 6/4/08 11:59 PM.

Good luck!

Greetings, I am glad that you didn’t experience separation anxiety, but I did in a big way. When my oldest son began preschool, he would run around in the van with me trying to catch him. Then, I would get in the classroom and he would run out of the door! My husband and I actually dealt with this through first grade! One day I had to leave him being held down by the principle and social worker. That was very difficult. We did get therapy and it helped somewhat. The medication did zero. Please enter me in your drawing. I appreciate it. Thanks,Cindi

These both look fabulous. My littlest one refuses to go to school because of seperation anxiety so I’d love to own this book.

LIke you,My kids didn’t suffer from separation anxiety either…but boy, I’ll tell you, they were very perplexed watching other children in their preschool who did…
Some of these kids would still be crying when I came to pick up my kids..I always felt bad for them.

Yours didn’t suffer from separation anxiety but mine do right now. They aren’t left that often because I am a SAHM but when I do leave them they have difficulties adjusting. Thank you for the giveaway!

    hi karma..
your children did not suffer from separation anxiety….and mine really didn’t either.
we may have had a few days where they cried when i left the house, but the crying would end pretty quickly.
(probably because they were staying behind with their daddy…who they like more than me:) or with a fun babysitter!)

i hope i win your books! my kids are 2, 3 and 5.
(just read your article in the Writer magazine. great advice!)
