I have recieved a few concerned emails about several of my books that are missing from my website. Don’t worry–all of my books will be posted eventually. I have so many books published that getting content compiled and to my web designers is almost a full time job. Although I’m not complaining about having a lot of books published!
Speaking of emails, I can’t believe the outpouring of support I recieve from parents, teachers and children. I have literally sobbed over some of your notes to me. Several parents of autistic children reported that their child’s first words were from Bear Snores On. A mother wrote to tell me that she was able to keep her little girl still during a difficult medical test by reciting Baby Cakes (which she had memorized!). It’s a huge honor that you find my writing worthy enough to read to your children. This writer is humbly searching for words to express her feelings–and finds herself incapable.
I am ashamed to admit that I am no C.S. Lewis. He answered every letter he ever recieved personally, written in his own hand. I think I read that Madeleine L’Engle (what a sad loss that was) did as well. I do try to answer direct inquiries, suggestions, etc… as best I can. I’m going to make a more concerted effort from now on. But please know that I DO recieve your emails and I often find myself sitting at my computer with a goofy grin and a full heart muttering, “They like me! They really, really like me!”
